After much speculation, it looks as though Bryce Harper will indeed be taking part in the 2026 MLB Home Rub Derby.
The Phillies' first baseman took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to inform fans of his decision, writing "Derby at home? Sure, why not?"
This will mark Harper's third career Derby appearance and the first in 8 years. That last showing of course resulted in him winning it all over then future-teammate Kyle Schwarber. Harper will now be hoping that the vocal Philadelphia faithful might help lift him to a second Derby win. If he was to do so, Harper would become only the fourth ever player to reach that milestone.
Harper enters the All-Star weekend in good stead. He's hit 20 home runs this year, 7 of which came in the month of June, where he maintained a .305 batting average.
'The Showman' will be hoping to live up to his nickname on Monday.
