The Philadelphia Eagles are about to arrive at training camp, but the offseason gives a lot of time to reflect on what has already happened with this team and what could happen going forward.
Below are a few stats, thoughts, and good vibes as we head into 2026.
The Eagles traveled to Tampa Bay five consecutive times because of an incredibly unusual scheduling coincidence involving regular-season games and playoff matchups. It’s one of the strangest scheduling quirks you’ll ever see.
2026 marks Lane Johnson’s 14th season in the NFL. He will have played with Jalen Hurts for half of his career. That seems odd, but it is true.
The Philadelphia Eagles have won 50 regular-season games over the last four years despite having different identities and offensive coordinators.
Philadelphia has been better as an underdog more than most teams are as favorites. Since 2022, Philadelphia has gone 6–3 when listed as an underdog, including road wins over the Chiefs, Saints, Bengals, Ravens, Packers and Bills.
The Birds have reached two different Super Bowls with two completely different-looking rosters. Some of the offensive line remained, but the quarterback, running backs, wide receivers, linebackers, safeties, and much of the defensive front changed dramatically between the two championship runs. As well as a new Head Coach and coordinators.
The Birds made the playoffs every season from 2022 through 2025, despite the overhaul of both the offense and defense mentioned above.
Jalen Hurts needs 7 rushing touchdowns to become the Eagles’ all-time leader. He would pass Steve Van Buren, who had 69.
Saquon Barkley had 17 runs over 20 yards during the 2024 season. His home run ability is still there, waiting to be unleashed.
DeVonta Smith is the undisputed number one receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into 2026.
Makai Lemon needs 917 receiving yards to surpass DeVonta Smith’s 2021 rookie receiving-yard record.
Dallas Goedert had 11 TDs in 2025, an all-time Eagles record for tight ends. Can he improve on that?
Quinyon Mitchell has only allowed 1.8 yards after the catch per reception, the fewest among corners. YAC Killer!
Cooper DeJean has not allowed a passing touchdown as a slot cornerback over his first two seasons.
Riq Woolen has the best yards per coverage snap among all cornerbacks with at least 500 coverage snaps over the past four seasons, per NFL Next Gen Stats.
With all of the excitement surrounding new pass rusher Jonathan Greenard, many have written off or seemingly forgotten how dominant Nolan Smith Jr can be. If you look back at his historic run in the 2024 postseason, you see the talent and force he can be. 2026 is a big year in determining his future in Philadelphia.
Jalen Carter was recently ranked the third-best DT in the NFL in an ESPN Execs, Coaches, and Scouts ranking. He has the talent to be first overall. His 83 pass rush wins since entering the league in 2023 are tied for the seventh-most in the NFL over that span. Impressive, but he can be better. I expect him to be a top 3 force this season as he plays for a monster extension.
As always, thank you for reading!
