The Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 season has them flying (air miles) much farther than they did last season, even without the international game on the schedule, and a tough stretch facing their divisional foes three weeks straight, and two holiday games. The Birds will be playing on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Coincidentally, the Super Bowl is on Valentine's Day, so they may as well make it a trifecta and play on that day as well. But first, let's get through the regular season.
Week 1 vs. Commanders
The Eagles open the season against Washington, featuring the first look at Philadelphia’s revamped Sean Mannion-led offense at Lincoln Financial Field. The fans have been waiting all offseason to see their new-look attack unleashed, and it will be on display in what is just their 2nd opening-day game in Philly over the last 6 seasons.
The Eagles offense shows out in week one, sparking a frenzy among the fanbase about what it could look like all year. Think 2013 opener vibes when Chip Kelly shocked the Commanders. Only this time can the offense maintain its success for much longer.
1–0
Week 2 at Titans
The Birds on Broadway! Tennessee’s defense was one of the league’s toughest last season, and I would expect them to bring the pressure early and often. The Eagles offensive line will be tested early and often. They have never won in Nashville; will they close out the last year of this stadium with a win?
Yes! The Eagles win a hard-fought close game with a strong defensive performance.
2–0
Week 3 at Bears
The Eagles head back to Soldier Field after last season’s embarrassing Black Friday loss to Chicago. The Bears controlled the line of scrimmage in a 24–15 win, and it was one of the few times this season that Fangio had no answers. Ben Johnson’s offense will look to befuddle the Birds again, while the Eagles look to have the last laugh in a Monday Night battle.
Fangio has done his homework, and the Eagles O line plays up to their potential in a dominating road win.
3–0
Week 4 vs. Rams
Philadelphia has owned this matchup, but the margin of victory has been slimmer the last two times. Sean McVay still hasn’t solved Nick Sirianni’s Eagles, but a blocked field goal by Jordan Davis to secure another win is unlikely. The Birds need to play four quarters of football to leave the field victorious.
I think this will be the first hiccup of the year. The Rams are due to win in Philadelphia, and I would prefer they get it out of the way prior to the postseason.
3–1
Week 5 vs. Jaguars (London)
The Eagles return to London for the first time since beating Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium in 2018 behind Carson Wentz. This game shifts to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where I expect Philadelphia’s international fan base, as well as the hundreds, if not thousands, who will be traveling to the UK for the game, to create a strong Eagles presence overseas.
Jacksonville might eventually be the home team in London, but this city and stadium will be subjected to a lot of “Go Birds” chants as the Eagles roll with another international victory.
4–1
Week 6 vs. Panthers 1 PM
Bryce Young nearly upset Philadelphia two years ago, during the Eagles’ magical Super Bowl season, and the Panthers arrive to build on last season’s playoff appearance. They will be hungry in this mid-October clash at Lincoln.
The Eagles chose not to take a Week Six bye, and that could prove to be a bad decision. Jet lag and a hungry, up-and-coming team are too much to overcome.
4–2
Week 7 vs. Cowboys 815 PM
Philly is mad after a week six loss and takes it out on the Cowboys. Jalen Carter was ejected in the home opener last season; he gives the fans what they missed seeing and shows off.
5–2
Week 8 at Commanders
Washington gets the advantage of coming off its bye week before hosting the Eagles on MNF under the lights. The rematch also comes with far better spacing than last season. The teams met twice within three weeks late in the year. I like facing them 7 weeks later, but would prefer for all divisional games to open and close the season, if I had my druthers.
As we sit here today, I think the Eagles are a much better team. Maybe in October things will look different, but I see an offense starting to find a weekly rhythm and being too much for the Commanders to handle.
6–2
Week 9 vs. Giants
This will be Philadelphia’s third divisional game in a row, and it has them facing another team coming off a bye. Saquon Barkley has consistently torched the Giants since leaving New York; I would expect more of the same.
The Eagles are just a more experienced team, and despite being coached by a very competent old friend, John Harbaugh, they can't keep up with the Birds.
7–2
Week 10: BYE
The bye week arrives at a good time for a roster that will already have traveled internationally and gone through a difficult divisional stretch.
Week 11 vs. Steelers
Aaron Rodgers has become quite the character the last few seasons, but his level of play has tailed off. Pittsburgh still brings one of the league’s most physical identities to Philadelphia, but the Eagles have a strong track record of winning after their bye weeks under Sirianni.
Another impressive win, and Jalen Hurts torches the blitz all day.
8–2
Week 12 at Cowboys (Thanksgiving)
The Eagles return to Dallas on Thanksgiving for the first time since 2014 in one of the NFL’s marquee rivalry games. Philadelphia has struggled at AT&T Stadium. Will the Birds avoid being cooked this holiday season?
Sadly, no. I feel a determined Cowboy team, embarrassed weeks earlier, plays close to a perfect game this time around, proving too much for the Eagles. Philly fans can start shopping the post-holiday sales early.
8–3
Week 13 at Cardinals
Philadelphia hasn’t forgotten the ugly loss to the Cardinals during the epic collapse at the end of the 2023 season, and they look to change their losing ways in that stadium.
The field is not waterlogged as it was in Super Bowl 57, and the Eagles defense eats.
9–3
Week 14 vs. Colts
I expect this to be a battle, as Shane wants this win as much as Nick does, but the Colts do not have the QB that Philadelphia does, and Hurts proves to be too much for Indy to handle.
10–3
Week 15 vs. Seahawks
Seattle, who I still forget just won the Super Bowl, visits Philadelphia in a late-season matchup that should carry playoff implications. The Eagles corner Riq Woolen will face the team he won a ring with less than a year ago. Philadelphia has struggled with Seattle, and this would be a statement win for the Eagles.
I expect the Eagles offense to break out on a Saturday afternoon matinee. This is a game that Philadelphia and the coaching staff need to prove to themselves. They do.
11–3
Week 16 vs. Texans (Christmas Eve)
The Eagles host Houston on Christmas Eve in the middle of another short-week turnaround created by the NFL schedule makers, joy. I know the lead for this story will be tossing snowballs at Santa, again, but Jalen Hurts faces his hometown team in what could be a very physical matchup with a lot of importance riding on a victory.
Eagles fans had a miserable Thanksgiving, but Philadelphia delivers yuletide joy on December 24th.
12–3
Week 17 at 49ers
Philadelphia heads west to the Bay, near the power field, for a primetime rematch against the team that ended its season a year ago in the playoffs. Health and playoff seeding will likely dictate the outcome more than pride will.
The Niners will need the victory more than the Eagles.
12–4
Week 18 at Giants TBD
The regular season closes in New York, where playoff positioning could already be settled for Philadelphia. The Giants hope they can fight for their own playoff spot at this point, or at the very least play spoiler.
The Giants still lose, and it will be to the Eagles backups in what could be Tanner McKee’s final game as a Philadelphia Eagle.
13–4
Early-game predictions are just for fun, as each week is its own battle, and injuries and key matchups usually determine the outcome as much as talent. I do think they have a 14-win ceiling and an 11-game floor if they avoid the injury bug.
The Eagles are built to win now, and if they stay reasonably healthy, they will fight for a postseason run towards their third Lombardi in ten years.
As always, thank you for reading!
