Announcing new programs and community events for 2026

Posted

This spring we will have a grand opening for our new pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts at Dolphin Park. This is the first step in what the Parks and Recreation Department and the Recreation Advisory Board hope will be multiple projects over the next few years to modernize the recreation facilities throughout the township.

Summer brings the return of our busiest season. We are looking forward to our expanded summer camp options that will be available in 2026. Our traditional summer day camp is back at Dolphin and will once again feature either a six or eight-week option. The camp day runs daily from 8 am – 5 pm and has many activities, trips, and a great staff to entertain and keep your kids safe all summer.

We also offer multiple one-week camp options. At Russell Elliot Memorial Park, we will have a variety of sports camps to choose from while at the Sarah Mitchell Community Center, we will have specialty camps such as Lego, Slime, Art, and Drama. This summer will also feature our first “Movie under the Stars” in July, as we will gather at Dolphin park to enjoy a family friendly movie. Plans are also in the works to host a concert to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

2026 is going to be a great year for the Lower South Parks and Recreation Department. Don’t miss out on your chance to join the fun. Whether you are looking for a fitness class for seniors or a princess party for your young daughter, there is something for everyone at Lower South.
