I hear from families every day who are struggling to keep up with rising costs. Whether it’s groceries, childcare essentials, or health-related expenses, the burden is real, and I’m committed to doing something about it.
That’s why I’ve been laser focused on making life more affordable for everyone in Pennsylvania. I’ve introduced legislation to eliminate the sales tax on essential childcare products like baby bottles, car seats, and diapers. These aren’t luxuries, they’re necessities for young families.
And affordability goes beyond just the basics. I believe in promoting healthy lifestyles and opportunities for our youth. That’s why I’ve proposed two new tax credits that would help Pennsylvanians afford gym memberships and the increasing costs of youth sports and activities. The costs for both have exploded over the last few years, with working families and individuals being cut out. My proposal would provide immediate relief so more people can live healthy lifestyles.
I also supported major, bipartisan legislation that created the new Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit. This new tax credit means that working Pennsylvanians may be eligible to receive up to $805, which will help over 900,000 working Pennsylvanians. Together in Pennsylvania we have also tripled the childcare tax credit, expanded the Property Tax Rent Rebate Program, and I’ve introduced legislation to provide more direct relief for seniors struggling to afford utility costs.
This is just the beginning. My plan is to make our community a place where families can live, work, and raise their children without being overwhelmed by costs. I’ll keep fighting for practical, meaningful solutions that lower costs and create brighter futures for everyone in our community.
