Flyers Training Camp: A closer look at the players set to take the ice in Voorhees

Posted

The Philadelphia Flyers are preparing to open training camp ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season, with a roster that includes a combination of established NHL players, recent acquisitions and prospects competing for opportunities.

Camp is set to begin on Sept. 17 at Flyers Training Center in Vorhees, NJ, following on from Rookie Camp which starts today.

The Flyers' training camp roster consists of 26 forwards, 16 defensemen and four goaltenders.

Forwards

Philadelphia's forward group features several of the team's most important offensive players. Travis Konecny recorded 68 points in 77 games last season, while Matvei Michkov finished with 51 points in 81 games. Trevor Zegras also enters camp after producing 67 points in 81 games.

The Flyers will also have several young players competing for NHL opportunities. Porter Martone, the sixth overall selection in the 2025 NHL Draft, recorded 50 points in 35 NCAA games before adding 10 points in 10 NHL games with Philadelphia last season.

Jett Luchanko, Alex Bump, Denver Barkey and other prospects will also have opportunities to make an impression during camp.

Defense

The defensive group includes returning players such as Travis Sanheim, Cam York, Jamie Drysdale, Nick Seeler and Rasmus Ristolainen.

One of the players to watch will be David Jiricek, who was acquired from Minnesota in March of this year. The 6-foot-4 defenseman split last season between the NHL and AHL and will compete for a role in Philadelphia.

The Flyers will also have young defensemen Oliver Bonk, Spencer Gill and 2026 first-round pick Maksim Sokolovskii in camp. Sokolovskii is listed at 6-foot-7 and 234 pounds.

Goaltending

Four goaltenders are listed on the camp roster: Dan Vladar, Joseph Woll, Aleksei Kolosov and Carson Bjarnason.

Vladar enters camp after appearing in 52 games last season and posting a 29-14-7 record, a 2.42 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Woll was acquired from Toronto, while Kolosov and Bjarnason represent younger options within the organization.
