The Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission, together with with local veterans and volunteers, will host the Flags for Forgotten Veterans display on Tuesday, June 30 at 10am, on Hatboro Road in front of the Northampton Township Municipal Park.
The installation features 660 American flags, each representing a veteran lost to suicide every month in the United States. The exhibit is designed to raise awareness about veteran suicide, encourage conversations about mental health, and connect veterans and their families with available resources and support.
"We want to reduce veteran suicide through awareness, education, and community engagement. Every flag represents a veteran we have lost, and every conversation started by this display is an opportunity to save a life." said Mike Egan, Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
"We are honored and excited to finally bring Flags for Forgotten Veterans to Northampton Township," said Kristin Reilly, Chair of the Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission.
The Veterans Advisory Commission is asking local elected officials, veterans’ organizations, law enforcement representatives, community leaders, and members of the media to attend and support this awareness initiative.
